Just started the car. Switch TPS and MAP and even though I thought I had it right I didn't.

Again it has the p2e ECU in it with 240cc injectors (are y7 190cc?) The car starts idles for 1.5sec @ 1500rpm then dies. I can restart it, get on the gass and it will hold at 3000rpm no problem, let off and it dies, If I keep it at 3000rpm it will stay for about 5-7secs, the try to kill itself. It bogs, and I can keep it alive by feathering the gas, but it sputters bad and then finally recovers but will try to die again in a few sec.

make sure it has gas (fill it up) and make sure you are using the correct gasket on the thottle body (if you are using the sam intake manifold on both motor)

Re: Major Problems with a y7 and a y8

Had a problem like this in a friend's 97 civic. We swapped in a b18b with no issues, and just ran it of an obd2 gsr ecu to get him around for a little while. He decided about a month later he wanted to turbo it, so we put his turbo on, converted down to obd1, and left the wastegate open so he could take the car to get it chipped. Well, when we went to start it, it would start up and idle a little rough for about 30 seconds or so and just die out. Had me stumped. I finally sat and watched his fuel pressure guage and watched as the key turned on it would jump up to almost 50 psi (used a fpr to adjust up a hair), then he would start the car and I would watch the gauge slowly drop to 0. Turns out, as soon as he would turn the car on, fuel pump would kick on but not turn off once it was pressurized. It would keep running continuously until you would actually start the car. Then for some strange reason the pump would just turn off. It sounds like you're having the same problem, so I would look into something along those lines. We never did get it figured out, he just popped the gsr ecu in and ended up running an afc with a msd boost timing retard. :-\

Okay but with 190cc it should still run. I've had cars idle on 450cc, like a bag of crap but idle.
Right Gaskets
Fuel pump sits at 36-38psi with ign on, 34-38 with it running and me keeping it running with throttle

but
BREAKTHOUGH

For the fun of it I disconnected the TPS, The car idles, revs up like ---- (no TPS and 240cc will do that) , but idles.

As it idle disconnect MAP, idled still but REAL Shitty, connected everything and it still idled realshitty, but that because no MAP tossed it into Limp Mode more then likely.

Waiting on the wife to come with my Multimeter to check TPS wiring.

Try swapping the map plug to the tps and the tps plug to the map...mighta got them mixed up in the confusion. Seen it done a few times with obd1 and obd2 wire harnesses where both plugs are combined into the main harness instead of seperated like the obd0's.

Already have swapped them. I thought I had them right, but I didn't, car kinda ran when I switched them, and now it runs when I disconnect the TPS.
