i corrected it the way you told me. you were 100% correct it was not alligned in the tabs on the inside. but know i have a idle that surges a little bearly noticable. and now my gas peddle now has a slight stick to it when you try to mash down on it sometimes. it doesn't run all that spunky anymore. any other ideas??

Well, I would check your base timing... see what its set at, might want to bump it up. Get a bit better throttle response.

The sticky pedal can be from a gummed up throttle body, take the intake off, and spray some Carburator cleaner in their, and get a old tooth brush and clean the ---- out of the plate, and all around the seal, so its nice and smooth.

But, I think you are correct Jeff, the manual states the voltage for the ecu wire, and how to check it on the car.
Ok, this thread got me thinking about my TPS...when I put it on I didn't adjust it at all, and now that I've got some datalogging software I could see that I wasn't reaching 100% throttle. So I bare some wires and hook up my multimeter, and if I adjust the tps so it's showing 0.5 volts at closed throttle, it only reaches 4.3 volts at WOT and the ECU only sees 98% throttle. If I do it the other way and adjust it so it's 4.5 volts at WOT, at idle it's like 0.9 volts and the ECU sees 15% throttle when the plate is closed. What gives? I've taken the TPS off of the throttle body and manipulated it by hand, and I can reach 5 volts by turning the sensor, so I'm beginning to think my throttle body may be suspect and not opening all the way (it's clean, cleaned it out in November). BTW, this was all done by hand at the throttle body, so the cable tighness doesn't apply.

Thanks for the help, -Z

Zac what type of datalogging software are you using?

ECUControl...very cool and cost a whopping $21 for components for the ECU mod.

Check out:

So your running the ECU controller and it works pretty good eh? very interesting! I didnt know that stuff was actually working, Ghettodyne work too now?

I'm to slow for all that stuff, I like working metal and ----.

So it only says 99% at WOT, hmm, I guess it could be a flawed T-body, if you need one I got a sexy one on ebay right now!

I am very satisfied with what the combination of ECUControl and Ghettodyne gives me...with Ghettodyne I can completely re-program my fuel and timing maps, change my rev-limiter, change my base idle, and enable VSS based launch control. With ECUControl I can hook up a laptop to my ECU via a serial cable, and see everything the ECU sees from it's sensors in real-time...only thing missing is A/F ratio, which they're working on. You can save all of this to a comma delimited excel file...which (incidentally) I'm trying to find some graphing software that can import this data and display it graphically.

All in all, I've spent about $186.95 on the project:
- '90 CRX Si ECU: $75
- Batronix EEprommer kit (W/zif socket option): $41.95
- Batronix Prog-Studio License : $15
- 2 Flash ROM chips and ZIF socket for ECU : $14
- Max233 TTL>RS232 Adaptor : $21 (For ECUControl)
- Misc soldering stuff: $20

So for less than $200 I've got a fully programmable ECU...and very soon Ghettodyne will support boost, 2 Bar and 3 Bar Map sensors, 450cc Injectors, the whole shabang, and I'm already set up for it when I turbo the ZC.

Hey thats great stuff ZAC, wow, when you get the boost option working you will have to post some pics, of your setup and management setup!

I plan on it...this site's really been my inspiration, and I'd love to see my Rex up there with the rest of the turbo projects. -Z

What kind of flash ROM did you buy? the EEPROM or the UV EPROM?
Cause I was told that some people had problems with the EEPROM, I was going to look for the EEPROM when doing my ECU, cause I don't want to buy a UV light to erase the UV EPROM.
