how long is long enough to wait during break in period before introduceing boost to a rebuilt engine?

 

If it was me I'd wait until your first oilchange. That way while your under there you can drop the pan for tapping and run your oil lines etc. Maybe 3k miles is a little overkill but to me it would be the ideal opportunity.

I drove around town for 2 days untill mine hit 500.

 

1k w/ 3 oil changes.
