Rear disk brakes on a crx?
Anyone know how to swap in rear disc brakes on a 88 si? the 91 si's have them but the 88s rear suspention is different than all the other years i believe....integra parts maybe?
would you have to change proportioning valves?

well... all you really need to swap is the trailing arms, and the e-brake cables... the 88 suspension has the stamped lower control arms, while the 89-91 has a cast LCA.
And yes, you do need to get the proportioning valve... one of my friends wrecked his CRX when his rear brakes locked up for this reason. (not having swapped the prop. valve)
But if you want my opinion on the gains of this swap...
This swap adds more weight than it adds stopping power.
unless you want it for cosmetic reasons/ease to work on
I would'nt reccomend it.
If you want a performance oriented rear brake upgrade, consider the factory aluminum drums from the 1st gen HF. They don't really add any stopping power, but they are lighter, which means less rotational mass - faster take offs =D

Re:Rear disk brakes on a crx?
I just bought an 88 si after i tottlaed my 91 si a few months ago . im gonna do the rear disk conversion in the next few days and once your use to four wheel disks the drums feel weak. you have a way better pedal feel and alot better braking performance with the rear disks . But yea the weight does really suck . You need the prop. valve , the complete rear suspension and brake line . The rear arm off the 88 si is alot lighter but i had to use the cast arm because the shocks are different and i had tokikos on the 91

I did a rear disc swap on my Del Sol.
Needed the rear trailing arms, new rotors (they were cracked on the del sol I got them off of), master cylinder, combination valve, e-brake cables, and this is most important THE BRAKE BOOSTER!
