QUICK QUESTION
The oil should flow just the same, the vtec controller is only forcing a solnoid to open. If what you described is a problem then every vtec powered car would have higher oil prssure below 5k rpms.. maybe you might have performed something slightly off during the swap?
What motor is this on, a d15?
