god damn 2700 lbs of TQ....thats alot...but u know if i can get away with cutting that black plastic cover and not worry about the belt slipping off later on then id be happy

 

uhm. i wouldnt hack it all up because u could get rocks and stuff kicked up from the road up into there.. if you cut a slit and like bent it off it would work i guess..

 

Its not as easy as it sounds. The plastic cover wraps around the crank shaft. You need to get in there with a dremel and tear it up. I haven't had any problems with rocks or anything. I just don't take it off-roading. I can change my timing belt in like 4 minutes flat

well i just really need to change my water pump...thats the thing...when i bought the engine the timing belt is new...so im thinking if i just cut around the water pump ill be good.

 

Just cut that ---- up and put it back together with an plastic epoxy.

me and phresh_5 got his off today. coal chisel in the flywheel and a 5 foot bar on my breaker bar.

that ---- was mass tight though holy crap!
