a friend of mine drove his CRX 205 km/h in 4th gear some time. and did this almost every weekend. last week he heard a ticking sound. it was 1 rod bearing. it was broken, he replaced it the next day, drove 1000km and 1 week later the same sound came back, now he replaced all 4 of them.
you can see on the color of the damaged bearing that its fucked (or scratches). new should B gray- aluminium color. old is a brown color. he was lucky his crack was still good.

exactly same thing happened to me, i had to change my crank pulley cause someone dropped it on the floor during my rebuild and it had cracked.. i went on and bought a cheaper one which was much lighter than stock the motor was rebuil i used it for a couple of days and one day the oil light came on and i took apart the oil pan to find lots of small metal shavings in the oil, what made the light go on was that thing that sucks the oil from the pan to the pump was getting completely filled with the metal shavings and the pump couldnt suck enough oil. changed the crank pulley with a stock one balanced it cleaned the inside but it could stand for only a month before minor knocking started...
i rebuilt it again and no problem at the moment... my advice dont use crappy, cheap crank pulleys and if you plan to use a good and lightened one make sure you get it balanced..
