Default Pistons and rods for mini-me.

89 crx si. 14b turbo. I want to do a mini-me with the d16z6 and while I've got the engine ripped apart i want to put in new pistons, rods, and rings. What would anyone suggest for a piston/rod combo that would keep the engine's compression in a safe zone for the turbo and possibly a bigger turbo in the future? I don't want to have to notch the block if at all possible.

im building a mini me d16a6 with y8. im going with eagle or scat rods with vitara pistons (they lower compression .9 on d series) and hasting rings. total cost a little less than 450.

do I have to notch the block for i-beam rods? scat rods? eagle rods? I don't want to notch the block if there is any way possible to not do it.

I've heard of bad things with girdle clearance issues with the SCAT rods and you would for sure have to notch the block. It's not that big of a deal. Most I-beams will clear the block with no notching.

it may not be that big of a deal for you but I'm kinda retarded. This isn't going to happen until next winter so I'm just starting my research.
