replace the tps, if it doesn't fix, return it by not over-tightening the screws, or clean the old one up really well
you never said how it runs. good? kinda lumpy with sporadic milage?

i think buying and returning the tps is a good idea. i know most of the guys at my autozone so i don't think it would be a problem.

I'd clean the MAF sensor first before buying a new TPS.

Re: NSFW tps questions NSFW adding pics now
anyone know where the maf is on this car?
i found a sensor on the throttle body just past the tps.
no clue what it is.
i didn't see any plugs or wires coming from the factory intake system.

Re: NSFW tps questions NSFW adding pics now
well according to napa this car doesn't have a maf. they said the 1.5 engine had one, but not the 1.6
the sensor i found that was just passed the tps i think is the map sensor. it has some kind of gunk in it. i cleaned it a little and the car drove a little better. i'm thinking this might be part of the problem
i'm going to take it off and clean it better, but it is ------- raining. as soon as it lets up i'm gonna rip it off and bring it in to clean it.
still looking for ideas.
i already replaced the tps, but i don't know how to reset the obd code. i tried pulling fuses like you do with hondas, but nothing happened

pulled off the map sensor and it has some oil on it.

ignore these posts, i'm just talking to myself. thinking out loud...
i did some searching on hard shifts and found out that the pulse generators could be bad. i will be testing them tonight.
also found a tsb on bad pulse generators.
