Default New clutch now CEL?

I put a new clutch in my car and now the check engine light wont turn off its a 1997 EX. I thought there was a way to check for codes by just turning on the ignition and counting the flashes of the cel but it only flashes once. How do i check for codes. The only sensors i remember unpluging are the primary O2 then two plugs on the transmisson. Was there another one i forgot to plug in? Any ideas? Thanks alot.

if you say the CEL only flashed once, isnt this the code for the o2 sensor? And you say that you unplugged it?

That to me would say that you were getting a code for the o2 sensor.

i don't think he checked the codes, i think he just turned his ignition on and the cel flashed on.

rsmith: you have to jump the service wire (a 2 prong plug near the ecu behind the passenger side kick panel), stick a paper clip in it to connect the two prongs, then turn your ignition on and count the flashes

Take to you local autozone and theyll scan for codes free of charge thats if they are still doing it but if they do atleast youll know in what direction to go to . Also out of personal experience make sure no wire were caught between the tranny and the engine. :P Hope i helped.
