So my friend has a 98 lude, he is a dumb *** when it comes to cars, I get to be the lucky one to show him how to fix ----. So he came to me and said he has a cel, took it down to the local schucks and had them read the code, It came up with a egr code. So we replaced it. Cleared the code and about 30 miles later its back. Had the cel read and its throwing the same code. What else could cause it to throw the code? Im thinking that it could be a faulty egr control solenoid valve. If not that then what?

What code exactly is it throwing?? Just cuz a code for the egr came on doesn't exactly mean it's the valve itself. Could be wiring going to or from say a short or an open in the circuit.....give me the exact code and i'll see what i can look up for ya. But more then likely since u replaced the egr it's going to be a wiring problem....hit me up with the code

Does it have a block off plate? I'm running a KMS block off plate and I thow a code for O2, but thats cause it opens and the O2 doesnt see a change in the A/F mixture on the stock ECU. Hondata now, and the code pops up but then I disable the code permantly cause it affects the the intake temp settings and the coolant settings of the ECU, epecially when boosting. YES I'M 100% sure, it was a problem I searched for a long time till SPUNKSTER replied on Hondata .com
