New axle boot installed VIBRATION NOW

Re: New axle boot installed VIBRATION NOW
My question is how much do you like your borrem end?? ID SERIOUSLY think about gettingf rid of that ------ Crank pulley.... Unorthodox are KNOWN to be the culprit in flailing and failing bottom ends. Buddy was making 400WHP stock block F22 kept eating main bearings in shortblocks.... Threw that thing in the garbage, not one problem since. I KNOW hes not the only one... His is in a hatch (EG) as well...
Id think about it.
Not sure about the axle deal though... I run OEM 99 prelude axles and have yet to ---- one up (8k + miles) at 50 each... Im sticking to this route

Re: New axle boot installed VIBRATION NOW
Been on there for 4 years and still using the original bearings from when i bought the motor. Went through a valve drop and now 4000 miles on this tune or weekend beating and daily driving to work sometimes. I had to pull the girdle to install the set screw for the balance shaft elimination kit and they still looked great. Also running royal purple or am soil. hmmm if i came across a original crank pulley that was not chipped. I would throw it on. Just that that pulley is the only one that i have owned. Maybe look into that too. Thanks Brian. You get a lap top yet or you just winging it?

If I remember correctly I've already warned you about that piece of ---- pulley you got on your motor. I've read many places that said it wasn't worth a broke dick. I'm sure you can find another one to replace it with somewhere and get a bigger belt for it

Re: New axle boot installed VIBRATION NOW
WELL BACK TO THE ------- AXLES
They dont just sell the outer CV bearings. They just sell the outer HUB since it's a cage assembly. And they want me to send it in to them for a rebuild. If I do that I doubt I'll get it back in time for the Dyno. GRRRRR
WHAT TO ------- DO.

Re: New axle boot installed VIBRATION NOW
YEAH 2.5 Skunk2 and I have not restriction as of yet.
BUT ANY THE ---- HOW
TAD from the driveshaftshop called me and had me remove the axle and do a torsional test. OUTER CV IS TIGHT as Brians mom"yea" and the inner CV is as loose as J.H. Christs *** HOLE. Thats loose. Anyways TAD is calling me as soon as he can find a 36.4mm tripod bearing assembly and SHIP OUT ASAP. So my dyno session may still be on. Waiting on a phone call back.
MAYBE JUST MAYBE this **** will be dyno worthy saturday.
TAD called me and is shipping out the 36.4mm bearing tripod to me. BASTARD COST ME $90 shipped......
YEEEEEEEHAAAAAA.......going back to bed now
HERE IS THE DAMAGE
Now when I put a new boot on the bearings looked perfectly fine with minimal wear for 10K miles. But when I removed the boot the bearings were still in tact but I SEE METAL FIBERS
Yeah shitty picture but you can see the metal reflecting.
AND HERE IS THE CLASSIC MONEY SHOT only one bearing stayed on the tripod housing.
