need suggestions
um well, seems like my engine sucked up a little peice of metal. still runs but i can hear it clanking around. it even stalls the engine sometimes when its idling. it depends where the peice is i guess.
i was hoping the peice would go out one of the exhaust valves but it doesn't seem to be happening. what do you guys think i should do, just take the head off and take the peice out or do you think it'll melt or something, or maybe finally go out one of the exhaust valves if i rev the ---- out of the engine?
this is pretty gay since i just got this car. the engine is a b18a i believe, 91 ls integra. is there anything other than air filter that would stop a peice from going through, and i mean seriously if it out through one of the intake valves it should go out one of the exhaust i would think. maybe its just something else, the valves were a little sloppy in the first place, think it just may be one really loose? cause i just pulled in from runnin it hard but it really sounds like a peice flying around lol.
anyways, someone help i dunno what to do

Re:need suggestions
lol found the problem, one of the rocket arms BROKE. its laying on the head. one of the intake i believe. the valves that are on the very top.
thats what i get for revving the ---- out of a engine with 220k miles on it, even a honda engine
anyone know how much a set of rocker arms is, or should i just go to a junkyard and grab one of a engine or somethin.

alright, i ran inside and made that last post after the phone rang right as i was taking the valve cover off and all i saw was the rocker arm laying on the head, well the arm isnt' broken, it just fell out of its slot. i put it back in the slot deal, it revs ok, but doesn't idle worth ----. maybe i need to just re adjust it or what? where is jeff when you need him :/

Re:need suggestions
no more clanking noise
I posted this awhile back.. try these out...
Ok. I have an Idle Troubleshooting guide sitting infront of me. I will type out what things it says to check.
1. Vacuum routing.
2. Check PCV valve for cracks, if unsure about condition, replace, they are cheap.
3. Take off intake tube and make sure throttle plate is 100% closed when idle.
4. Bleed coolant. Bubbles will throw off the Fast Idle valve
5. take off intake tube. while car is FULLY warmed up, and cover the bottom hole that is before the throttle plate using your finger. If the idle smoothes out then your fast idle valve is leaking air. pull it off and check it out. if nothing changes cover BOTH holes. the car should sputter and die. The Idle air control valve is too blame, check it out carefully. If the idle is STILL high after both of those then u have a vacuum leak.
these tips were taken off of www.g2ic.com.

Re:need suggestions
well, my dist was cracked all over, and i think the spark was jumping between points on the cap, and causing a cyclinder to spark at the wrong time, possible knocking off one of the rocker arms? i duno really its wierd heh
