Default Need opinions on this d15z6 build

Okay since I am going to be the owner of the $50 civic soon I'm already planning the build here it is:

1988-89 Civic DX 4 door (blue in color) DPFI
d15b2

to start with, the car has 205k miles on it. The dist does not work.

motor build

d15 block
*Might possibly post the block
virata pistons
d16a6 rods
z6 head (vtec baby)
possibly y8 head gasket to raise the compression
d16a6 intake manifold port matched if needed

turbo setup
custom log manifold
rhb5 turbo
intercooled
dsm 390ccs (i dobut i'd need 450cc's)
2.5" exhuast (should be more than enough)
dsm bov

now for the questions:

now, should I set it up as a obd1 car and run uberdata or should I set it up as a obd0 car and run turboedit and have a rpm switch for vtec?

Will the a6 rods work ? Will they cause any issues and are there any other options as far as rods (e.g. ls rods or something) that'd give me more strenght than the a6 rods and still fit into the d15 block?

all suggestions/opinions are welcome

btw, I'd be aiming at like 8-10psi daily driving w/ pump gas.

This is basicly either my go for parts car for the crx or it will be driving by my gf.

indeed.. since you are piecing little parts from here and there why not just pick up a spare z6 or z6 block to use?

your wasting time if you are doing anything to the bottom end. d16 rods are to long and will probably hit the valves. Vitara pistons are cast and are nothing special.

Do a DPFI-MPFI swap, build a turbo setup for it and boost it at 8-10psi perfectly tuned with turboedit and some 450's and she'll last for quite awhile. Then while doing this buy a spare a6/z6/y8 long/short block and build it.

Trust me, this is the way to do it. You dont want to waste the time on the d15. Especially since d16s are ------- everywhere.

i think im going to just pull the ------ motor and drop a d16a6 into it and call it a day.

this motor has 205k miles on it ...no point to even ---- w/ it

ZC...i would give it some thought, since it seems you are worried about mileage. get one from japan, with under 50K on it....

I got a ZC in my CRX right now and I really like the motor a lot. But I hear that vtec calling. My ZC is going to be pushin 180whp soon.

I really like ZCs but I'd like something with vtec in it. Plus the d16z6 has a decent amoutn of after market parts and ----. I mean, my zc is going to be

for the stock setup w/ t3 .42/.48 I'm going to put some delta 272 cams in there and hopefully be 180-200whp @ 9-10psi.

I'll upgrade the pistons/rods/studs and call it a day on the ZC.

I can find a cheapy d16 block and get the vtec head.. I just want something different between my 2 rides.

im pretty set on doing a d16z6...but i dont know..we will see
