NEED HELP ASAP!!! PLEASE LOOK!!!
OK here's the deal, I have a 99 civic DX with the D16Y7 engine, manual. I bought an EX (D16Yintake manifold and swapped them last night. The Y8 IM was from an auto so it had the IACV on the TB just like my Y7. I hooked everything up correctly and all is tight. When I start the car, It idles all wacked out like it'll surge from 300-3000RPM. Sometimes it goes to 6K RPM and stays there. It is different every time I start the car. This last time when I revved it up there was white smoke coming out of the exhaust only when I gas it, not at idle. I had heard something about newer Y8's having an air equalizer port or something....anyone know about this? There is a nipple on the flange that bolts to the head between the # 2 and 3 runners but it goes nowhere....it has a hole that goes through the flange but it cannot leak. ANY help would be greatly appreciated. BTW can you crack the head by overtightening a nut on the IM/head connection? THANKS!!!!!

Check the IACV. Which one did you end up using? It might be bad and leaking inside your TB. White smoke? Hmmm...
I doubt you can crack your head by over tightening your intake.

Re:NEED HELP ASAP!!! PLEASE LOOK!!!
Thanks for the quick replies...I reused my Y7 TB and the IACV was fine when I swapped it....The white smoke seems more like steam from coolant. I was thinking what if I bypass the coolant going to the IACV and see if it leaks...any problems with doing that other than the ECU staying in warm up mode a little longer? I just thought of something too...I used my Y7 IM gasket....am I a complete dumbass or are they interchangeable? THANKS!!!

I don't even have an IACV. Let us know what happens after you bypass it.
Don't know about the IM gasket.

Re:NEED HELP ASAP!!! PLEASE LOOK!!!
did you replace the gaskets on it? it could be antifreeze leaking into the 1st intake runner. so when you idle its fine but whenyou rev it and makes more pressure on the gasket casueing it to leak in that one area. i would go throught and tighten all the bolts again, perhapse you missed a few.
