So ok.. ive made a few posts on here when i brok e abearing in my cable ys1... the top bearing on one of the shafts cracked.. it was the set on top that has the snap ring go on top .... and snaps into the case when u put it back together... ANYWAYS....i was talkin with mistabone and he had a set that had no snap ring groove on top and it wasnt the same one as i needed.... So i had to call a acura shop in a town a few hours away and he faxed me a print out of the parts lay out and i picked out the one it was...... and it was 100% for a cable ys1 and 100% the right shaft..So i orderd it for like $111.00 shipped and i shift a brick but KNEW i needed it..so once i get it ......it also doesnt have the top snap ring groove... WTF is wrong? does anybody know what im talking about or a reason why the RIGHT part really ISNT the right part ?

having worked in a dealer parts dept, its always easier to bring the part that is broken into the dealer so we know what you want. saves our time/money and yours

 

Im ... 2 hrs away.. and my town doesnt have a dealer for it... ..phone has to do when i dont have a car that drives !

 

i have also found out that it should be a JDM tranny.... there was only 2 diff. styles of the ys1 cable tranny.. and i dont have the same parts as them... Its not lsd but yeah..... i need to see if i can change a few things over to the usdm ys1.. like the outside case and the countershaft top bearing...

 

i know the input shafts are 2 dif sizes. 90-91 ore smaller then 92-93

couldnt tell you about inside the trans though

 

Well i really don't have any knowledge on the internals but there are atleast 3 different B series cable trans with YS1 on them...

USDM LS
USDM GSR
JDM B16

 

i finally found that out...i orderd a bearing for a 93 gs-r and he also said it could still possible be the jdm b16.. but have no idea how i could find out for sure if its either the gsr or the jdm b16...either way im happy the kid sold me the swap not knowing it was anything besides the usdm Ls
