my ------- tbelt wont shut up!!!!
so, ive tried everything that i can think of to get my t-bet to stop screaming at me. replaced the belt, tensioner pulley. there were rub marks on the tensioner pulley like it had stopped moving and the belt had rubbed a groove on it. theres no oil or moisture on the belt either
im just getting over my annual spring allergies so im sure im not thinking 100%. but is there anything to look for when the belt squeels at you.

so. put brake fluid on the belt or the pulley or both. i always thought that moisture was the enemy.
also didnt think that the bolt being overtightened could effect how the tensioner pulley spun.

drrr. sorry, ive been highly medicated lately. didnt realize that he meant the paint-stripping damn near eat through your skin brake fluid. glad i just passed out earlier...
but as far as it being to tight, the belts still a bit loose. which now makes me wonder.......ive got the tensioner shifted all the way. the damned belt should be tight as hell. could i have the wrong size tensioner? ive got a shitty d15 crx motor. got the car early january and havent had the time to fool with too much.
the belt is the right one though. just bought it and just check the box again

Re: my ------- tbelt wont shut up!!!!
jesus christ just put brake fluid on it....brake fluid is hygroscopic (it absorbs moisture) my (GM master tech) boss does it all the time. If the noise stays then you either have a pulley making noise or the belt is to tight (causing a pulley to make noise). Just put like 1/2 cap full of brake fluid SLOWLY on the belt, if any splashes on the paint just wash it off.

take the timing cover off and put the crnk pully back on, hit the pullys with some wd-40 while its running. if it stops then its that ppully. if it doesnt help get some belt dressing and spray the belt with that. if u still have the problem its not them things
