I put in a mildly used act clutch yesterday and everything was fine until a few minutes agp and it started slipping so bad that I had to have it towed. I did not get my flywheel resurfaced, if that is the problem, is my clutch fucked? d16z6

 

Did you leave grease or oil on the flywheel or clutch disc? Whenever you install a new clutch, you should get the flywheel resurfaced. I've gotten away without it but on very low mileage cars ( I still should have turned them).

 

I whould say just so you dont ahve any problems, get a NEw clutch and have the flywheel resurfaced, ya dont wanna pull it apart and just resurface flywheel and then it still does it and have to pull it apart again

I just gave my flywheel a ghetto *** sanding job when I installed my DF Centerforce clutch... there wasnt anything burned on there .....so far so good...

 

I did the same thing and also washed my pressure plate and flywheel off with acetone. Never ever had a problem with it....Same kind of clutch too centerforce...

 

ha ha, you will never believe this, all I had to do was adjust my clutch pedal.......sometimes it pays to be retarded.

 

Atleast it isnt gonna cost ya more dollars,
