i just swapped a d16y8 to a d16y7 block with the d16y8 head and when i try to start it, it sounds like the timings off but i found tdc in the y7 and on the y8 head i put on i had the cam gear facing in the up position could the dizzy be 180degrees off or what i didnt think it would fit in backwards i dunno it started but wouldn't rev just sounding like mad timing issues what the hells wrong

the distributor can only go one way. what timing belt did you use.

 

the y7 and y8 timing belts are the same
