Motor finally installed but car wont start??? Z6/Y7 mini-me
K so I finally got the engine in and the new turbo setup all put in(after a year ). After adding fluids I went ahead and cranked the motor w/ injector clips pulled to oil everything up, Oil PSI sitting at 20 while cranking. Went ahead and hooked up the clips but the engine just wont catch. Starts to putt and gulp w/ an ocasionally backfire about every 2 rotations. Stopped after about 5 mins of trying to start. Already i started to smell gas in the oil after i pulled the dipstick out....
Some background info on the build. Y7 block, Y7 pulley, scat rods, vitara pistons, Z6 head, Z6 dizzy, P28. All this in a OBD2 Civic(EJ. Also getting a coolant temp sensor low/high voltage CEL(code 6). Had to extend the wires to reach the sensor on the z6 head. This is the least of my worries but any help on this too. Anyone have any ideas.

Re: Motor finally in but car wont start??? Possible dizzy prob???
I had the same problem after swapping my z6 in, Someone told me to check the ecu groung wires on the theormostat housing right behind the distributor and sure enough they were a little loost, tightened them up and it fired right up and ran perfect.

Mine did the same thing, and my FPR wasn't tightened down tight enough. check for spark, it should've still fired up if you were getting fuel unless your dizzy is ----.

Re: Motor finally in but car wont start???
Well, I went ahead and rechecked and impoved(cleaned up) all the grounds and picked up a new/used z6 dizzy today. Also went ahead and put the factory 240cc injectors in and hooked up a stock p28 but car still wont run. Every wire is getting a spark, every injector is working, fuel psi holding at 40.... whats wrong? Seems like a timing issue? Ive recived so much mixed info on this and eveyone swears by what theyre telling me. Like I said, this is a Y7 block/pulley and a z6 head/gear. Cam and Crank line up perfect at TDC and dizzy rotor is on #1. ---- I feel like a GOD DAMN TARD!!! Any help?

Damn it, also just dawned on me that the gas in the tank is 11 months old. Its more then half full and I never added any kind of stabilizer to it. Would this matter?

my civic sat for 2 years and ran perfectly fine on the same old gas. im sure thats not your problem. i think it sounds like there is something wrong with your fireing order
