modified b16 startup issues

alright, so i wired up my vafc lastnight and reset it to factory defaults. Chipped my pm6 ecu and burned a b16a basemap recurved for my 450cc injectors with turbo edit. Keep in mind that i relocated / rewired my msd ignition with external coil... I turn the key to start the car and it will crank all day long but will not startup. The ecu is throwing code 20 eld... and code 8 TDC?!?! wtf. Any ideas? :-\

you sure everything is hooked up correctly, theres probly something not done right. those are some wierd codes being thrown out. i would go back and double check everything, make sure theres no loose wires and what not.

after you check everything again. try another ECU. If it starts up, you know it's the ECU, if it doesn't you know it is the VAFC wiring. just a thought.

Have you checked for spark? Also, check your timing. I realize you havent touched the timing belt, but somehow that ---- magically gets fucked up on me every time I mess with anything and it acts like you are describing :-\

Re:modified b16 startup issues

alright so i found that one of the connectors to the distributor was disconnected, my stupid fault :P so i connected it and the car starts up but i have to keep the throttle open for the car to stay on. if i let go of the throttle, it will not idle and shuts off. I am still throwing a code 8 with the distributor connected?,would that code go away if i took the negative off the battery to reset the ecu? i think it threw the code in the first place because i didnt have the distributor connectors hooked up. any ideas on how i can get the car to idle? car wont rev past 4000 rpms

Re:modified b16 startup issues

update! code 8 is gone once i rechipped the ecu. i redid the b16 basemap with 450cc curve. still cannot get the bitch to idle it just dies? I dont have the intake hooked up or the downpipe to the exhaust, could that be the cause of it dieing and not idling? damn i am a noob... sooo confused

i don't believe the pr3 rom supports boost in turbo edit, maybe that's where your problem is. try scaling the map for 450's like you've done, but don't touch any of the boost settings in turbo edit, just to see if you can get it to idle.

sup projekteg, i havent touched any of the boast settings... as of right now i am trying to get the car running N/a with my stock header no turbo right now because i dont have the charge pipes... so im confused as to why the basemap will not let me idle... or rev past 4000 rpms. I dont have the intake pipe connected to the TB or the header pipe connected to the exhaust. could this be the cause of my problems? I reset all the settings on my vafc to factory im stumped ???
