You get what is referred to as a mini-me.

D15 block has shorter deck height and the crank has smaller bearings and a smallerr stroke.

I know next to nothing about D-series but i think the CX motors are 8valves so the pistons dont have the valve reliefs in them so a z6 head on a 8v block would = :X

that about a d16y7 block and crank with a d16z6 head?
is that a good combo?
and it will be sleeved and have turbo pistons put in.

A Y7 block is the same as a Y8. The oil pumps are questionable on those motors though. You might want to change to a Z6 pump, pickup, and pan.

It will be a complete Z6 then, basically.

I dont think the pump will work without redrilling.
Anyways for a z6 head on a y block you need 9 y bolts and 1 z6 bolt

You have to match the pump with the pan. You would only need to redrill when using say a Z6 pump with a Y7/Y8 pan.

well i got a d16y5 block and crank and i have a d16z6 oil pump and pan
and a d16z6 head will that all work all together?
and why is it u need only one z6 head stud and not all.
on my ls vtec i had u used the head stud that mached the head.
so on a y5 block i would use 9y and one z6 and where do i put the one z6 at on the bolt pattern?

do that and you'll never have to check the oil!

nor will you be able to.

d16y-series blocks = oil dipstick part of the oil pump housing = with z6 pump = no dipstick.

wow....why are you complicating this? these motors are a dime a dozen...pic up a z6, or y8, or even a y7....anything 16v would be better. There isn't much in mix matching these little guys. Unless you want to waste money on a new trend called "what works with what".
