like this one with the attecment from majestic. I tried the whole cut out socket thing and got it all compressed and the socket ------- came out of there like a bullet when the tool slipped and blasted me in the face..... It about gave me a black eye....lol At that point I said its time for a beer, and I will just order the right tool.

snap on copy valve spring tool there around 60 bucks works for all dohc heads. To get keepers off get a 1/2 long extension and a heavy hammer

Valvetrain will come apart on a good solid hit. Make sure not to loose keepers they are easily lost so have a cup laying around to store them upon removal

The only time I've done valvesprings was with a store-bought tool and it took two tries to find one that worked properly, and even then it took a little work with the grinder to make it fit/work with the springs we were changing.

To the OP: what type of compressor are you using?
I use a O2 sensor socket it has nice big groove cut in it.

I used a socket that looks like these one, but it was in fact a real hex socket. The real hex socket give more play to get them out. If your head is removed, put something like an old cloth under so the valves so they are not able to get out and push with something on it. I did it on the floor of my living room and works pretty well
