Re: LS rods in Dseries block
if you are going to buy forged pistons go ahead and get forged rods, I think the rods are more important anyway. I learn bad by being cheap, now I am rebuilding again and I just finish the build. I did not bore over my clinders after I discovered scoring, now I am burning ouil bad, I had to order another set of oversize pistons to do it again, my head gasket cost me $150 and the rod bearings cost me 280 euros so dont be half ***. I know its a different situation but it will turn out the same results. do it right the first time you wont have to do it twice.

Re: LS rods in Dseries block
dude... i had about $1000 in my si a6 engine and i went with shot peened rods and i busted the #3 rod and spun a bearing ------ up the whole engine. now after two blocks and about $2000 im in for the next engine and i will by aftermarket rods and arp bolts to hold them. so when im slammin thru gears and redlining i know my piston , rod combo is not failing. its well worth the extra $200-$300.
