Low oil psi problem

Low oil psi problem
What's up guys. I gotta little dilemma with my d16 mini-me...i just rebuilt the entire motor, and when i pulled the head off the a6 block, i noticed the old owner didn't pull out the oil control jet, so i did. Well, after the motor was back together and runnin in my car, i noticed the oil pressure SUX. It'll only make about 35 psi at 3500rpm. And when i'm on the highway, it refuses to go past 42psi. I don't wanna damage my nice new bearings and crank here, anyone got any ideas on how to boost the oil pressure back up? I've read about putting spacers in the oil pump check valve, think this would work? Thanx guys.

Re:Low oil psi problem
Well, this is the thing...the oil pump is only 6 months old, and made over 85 psi in the old motor setup. As far as the timing belt, water pump, and all that other crap, they are all brand spankin' new (seriously...who would rebuild a motor and not replace those? ). It just seemed to me that when i pulled out the stock a6 oil control jet, the psi dropped to far for comfort...but it has to stay out. There is still a jet in the z6 head though.

Re:Low oil psi problem
My light does come on (when u turn the key on), and i have seen it come on on my old motor around sharp turns, so i know the light works. It just seems that since i took the oil jet outta the a6 block, the pressure dropped considerably.
