Tint doesn't bond to Plexi or lexan very well. It's not forulated too, It will buble off in a few months.

You can buy tinted plexiglass that has the colour right in the glass

PLexi glass does fog up. My family has some heav machinar with that on it for laying pipe. After about a year on the side of raods it had a yellowish fog to it.
COuldnt you use some sort of spray on thin hardcore glue to bond it to the plexi/lexan?

Just to be sure, you know you can't do your windshield in Lexan right? Your windshield is actually a big player in the rigidity and strength for the body of your car. Also, it wouldn't be legal to drive/race anywhere. you can replace any other window, but for the hassle, and minimal weight savings, I wouldn't suggest it. Plus if you do your hatch window, you'll have no defrost, making it even harder to see through... ;)

On a 4g, the windows are flat on the sides, I think. So that would work in your favor for doing the side ones.

I don't think it is worth it though, unless you are already having to replace the windows.

You must have some sort of a death wish to do your side windows in lexan or plexi glass, there is a reason we call car windows safety glass, it is ment to shatter on impact so your head dosnt bust open like a watermellon.

Think about the consiquences before you do something stupid, its not worth the time anyways to bend the plastic to the shape of the glass, It will never keep its shape like glass does, and it till never seal properly, and once again, in the event of an accident, if your head comes in contact with it at high velocity, say bye bye to your brain, you'll either be knocked unconcious or killed instantly.

Look at the little H symbol on your steering wheel, Its there to remind you of what youre driving, unless this car is your RACE car and you have one seat and a harness and will be wearing a helmet every time youre in it, I wouldnt do it.

I don't see any problem with running lexan in teh back and no side windows on a drag set-up. The cage will take care of a lot of the strength, and the net windows are lighter than anything.

its called safety glass(tempered) because when it breaks, it breaks into tiny little pieces, instead of long dagger like pieces that would stab your mother ------- heart out.

you are right about the strength of acrylic glass tho, it's really strong, installing it is like adding a extra form of theft proofing, since it's almost impossible to break via normal means. yes in the event of a accident, your head would collide with it, the acrylic would flex, absorbing alot of the force, and you would be kept safely inside the car, instead of flying out like a fat kid on cake.



People do use it as their windshield in drag racing, the problem is, once you start going fast, it starts coming in on you, it's crazy lol, so you either gotta go back to the stock glass, or add a bunch of supports in (see nascar windsheilds)
