I had the idea of putting lexan windows in my 88 hb. how would I go about doing this or would it even work with the curves? I would like to do all windows.

Re: lexan windows
is this ur daily?
if it is, have fun looking through foggy windows all day long :P |
Re: lexan windows
yes it is
Why would they be foggy? |
Re: lexan windows
Lexan likes to turn foggy when it is exposed to UV over a long time.
Unless you get the REALLY Expensive stuff. and I mean REALLY expensive. We've worked with it at work, but It will still fog over time. |
Re: lexan windows
i think it needs to be heat streched somehow to make the curves..i think it would be a pain to make your own

Re: lexan windows
does plexiglass fog up too? I only have 3 windows left in the parts car (windshield, hatch window, and right rear window) and I'd like to strip that bitch down and put plexiglass windows in.

Re: lexan windows
Don't really know, but I would assume, UV likes to break down basically anything. At a Co-op placement for college we would spend HOURS UV testing material because it was a texile place. Eventually, any plastic will break down due to UV. That why you dash fade, your seats, your pant, and so on.

Re: lexan windows
Plexiglass with 20% tint would be nice, it would probably take forever to get foggy.

Re: lexan windows
you can drape form lexan with aheat gun and your oringal windows, works good
|
Re: lexan windows
a old pizza oven works also for drape forming.
Instead of 500F just use 200F temp settings. |
