Junkyard Engines
Since the search is down I had a question about buying engines from a junkyard. I'm looking at getting a d-series either 1.5 or z6 or even an LS. Any pointers on what to look for for a new motor? When rebuilding a d-series are all d-series 1.5's the same even through the years? Where is a good place to look at a diagram or something on how to rebuild? THanks guys and sorry for the newb questions I'm just trying to learn.

100% there will be someone in your area selling an already pulled motor for CHEAP, junkyard motors tend to always have little problems if not HUGE problems being thats why there in the yard
Id search some classifieds (honda-tech and craigslist), drive to someone local and youve got a better chance and a good motor

If you go to the junkyard make sure you pull the motor from a car that hasn't been sitting and picked over real bad. Make sure it turns over turn it by hand just to make sure it's not locked up. if the plugs are gone pass on it. look for a car thats there for a reason other then the motor. if the things been Tboned chances are it has a good motor in it.
Ive pulled lots of parts out of the junkyard just use your head and be critical. Ive noticed Ls motors are a dime a dozen anymore. It makes me want a crx shell to swap one into for some cheap boost action.

Re: Junkyard Engines
I live in northern KY. Besslers has a few and so does this shady place called jacks on Kellog ave in cincy. Jacks charge 175 for any motor in their yard and at besslers their only 150. I wish I could use on but I have an accord. Hopefully a boosted b18 crx is in my future.
