Re: The ITB info thread.
I thought you can seperate the GSXR 1000???
|
Re: The ITB info thread.
I bought a set of 00-03 gsxr750 Tbs... I believe the specs were like a 50mm to 42mm taper inside. I'll get them out and measure them again at some point. They are also completely splittable.

Re: The ITB info thread.
Which would be the "best"? ITB's are ------- Hawt!
|
Re: The ITB info thread.
Where can i get ITBS for my d16a6???? im really trying to get them on my car if anyone has any info.........
|
Re: The ITB info thread.
happen to figure out the cc flowrate on the 600RR CBR ITB's yet?
also, what tends to have better result with ITB? Shorter runners or Longer? |
Re: The ITB info thread.
the same holds true in all aplications, carb or ITB.. a longer runner will make more power on the top end while a shorter runner will make more low end power... bike TB's are rediculously oversized... you'd want it as short as possible for a honda. i run 40mm webbers on my celica's 2.4 and it breathes very well on top. ITB's flow way better than carbs

Re: The ITB info thread.
is anyone here running ITBs on there turbocharged engine, how whould that setup run, whould the ITBs benfit with a turbo?
|
Re: The ITB info thread.
no one ansered this guys question and i was curious about the same thing? how good or bad would that be to run on a turbocharged engine?
|
Re: The ITB info thread.
tony the tiger on honda-tech runs an ITB boosted GS-R setup.
refers to it as the ultimate throttle response setup. take it for what you will, theres a vid on there somewhere. http://htracing2.homestead.com/files...engturbo4f.jpg |

Re: The ITB info thread.
ITBS are the shizznit if you have time too figure out Vacuum and tune them :) I almost went that route but boosted instead, and saved a bunch of money on my car insurance, by switching too Geico! :)

Re: The ITB info thread.
Flyspyder55: I think you got your info flipped there my man. Longer runners make more bottom end torque. It's like what happens when you add a throttle body spacer or a carb spacer to a Chevy V8 truck, you get more torque for towing. Short runners, (ie. ITB's) make more top end horsepower. Which is why motorcycles run carbs or ITB's right off the cylinder head.

Re: The ITB info thread.
new to this forum and its great! the itb write up is awesome but i am a noob when it comes to acuras. I have a daily driver that i want to install the itbs. I know that itbs give instant throttle response but i am interested in pushing more fuel through my system. I know i will need a bigger fuel pump and probably an safc to trick the computer in to shooting more fuel. but how exactly is the fuel bieng delivered to the motor.(puts on his flame suit for last question). any input is appreciated

Re: The ITB info thread.

Re: The ITB info thread.
Howsit guys.
Im a Hondaluvva from South Africa and just need some help here. Im currently busy with a ITB setup on my B16A. Im gonna be using my stock ECU and just add a piggyback/chip to do fuel and timing maps. But my problem is the ICV(Idle Controle Valve). How do i do this....the throttles dont have an ICV. Some help please. |
Re: The ITB info thread.
Great info again
|
Re: The ITB info thread.
Ive always been curious as to how the ---- you would use an ITB setup on a boosted car
I doubt you would have to split your charge pipe 4 ways at the end Anyone care to explain? |
Re: The ITB info thread.
Plenum is built around the itb
|
Re: The ITB info thread.

|
Re: The ITB info thread.
More than just ITBs, huh?
;) |
Re: The ITB info thread.
got a friend gonna give me some itbs off of a gsxr 750 for like $50, i am also wondering about the iacv...also if i'll be needing to tune the ecu..... ???
|
Re: The ITB info thread.
GSXR750 ITBs would be perfectly sized for a D15, and yes you'd need to tune the ECU.

hmmm but what about the yarrr!? |
Re: The ITB info thread.
50mm ITBs, minimum.
Unless you just want a loud engine, "throttle response" whatever the ---- that is, and a loss of top end over stock. Which is all most people want from ITBs. |
