Is the pressure plate still painted yellow? I think the pressure plate is under the impression that it is hot ---- because it costs so much, therefore its being lazy and only works when it feels like it

Found the problem..The clutch disk was cracked in the middle, where the springs are.So i guess when it tried to put pressure on it,it was weak.That's all i could see wrong.

so what your saying is.. you didnt use a clutch alignment tool.. slapped the disc in there, ran the tranny down with the bell housing bolts, fired it up and it wouldnt go into gear?

No, i use a small socket and my eyes to line the tranny up...i cannot ever find that stupid pilot tool..i have to drive all the way to houston to find one, and than wait a week for it to be shipped here. oh well, i guess ya caught me..lol
