Default imput on building a d-series

well ive decided to keep my trusty d15z1 (vx civic) motor and build it up.Now the motor currently has,

d16z6 head and cams
Custom venom style plenum with 75mm throttle
550cc injectors
400hp fuel pump(not sure of flow but was told 400hp?)
tunned length manifold with a T3 roller bearing turbo
microtech LT8s (standalone managment ,like ems)

Now for internals im not sure what to use ive now that the d15z1 has the same size rods as a d16?what will i need brands and parts ,also will i need decking or posting? thanks sorry bout all the q's

Buy a Z6 block and build that. Then when your done just swap it in your car and you won't have any downtime. Rods and pistons are up to you.

He said Z6, as in D16z6, not B16 No, rods are not the same length, he meant you could build your D16 block outside the car, then pop it in under the head that actually belongs to it, simple, easy, cheap.

I know what z6 stands for ,there was a post that said "get a b-series" that must have got deleted before you posted up.And im talking about a "D15Z1" not a D15B1,B2,B8,B7 etc.
Which has a stroke of 84.5 like all d15's,But a rod length of 137mm ,which is the same as all D16's.D15's normal have 134mm.This means that a z1 has the best rod/stroke ratio out of all d-series and should be able to rev harder, make more power and last longer. So if someone can confirm this rather than talk ----,then ill be most thankfull.

Sorry if it looked like I was talking ----, I think I misunderstood you. Anyway, you're talking about the E Vtec motor D15Z1? Are Z6's in short demand, unless you're doing a race application I don't think the revability or reliability of the rod ratio is going to come into play. A honda D series rod is a Honda D series rod.

I just bought a D15Z1 as a temporary replacement to drop in while i built my Z6 up.... but then i went out and bought a complete Z6 changeover... so now the little Z1 just got brushed off to the side cause im selling it(hint hin.. its in the classifieds)....

but hearing about whether or not these engines are any good i think i might have to work on it a bit.. probably slap the Z6 head on it... and run the ---- out of it to see what it can handle...

the only good thing about the d15z1 is the block +crank.Rods, head, cams, manifolds, ecu is all trash. And since ive got a d15z1 all ready why not use it?the heads been done now moving down to the rods+pistons+decking+ sleves but i wasnt 100% about the rods and was looking for someone who had changed rods in a z1 before to confirm it.But im guessing no one here has.And im from australia which dont have d16z6 our si's came with 0bd2 zc.I got the head lucky from a yunkyard, off a z6 that threw a rod probly because someone was a bit boost happy from the states.lol
