Idle problem- Z6 in EF
Ok, guys, The Z6 has benn running pretty good in my 90 Ef hatch converted to OBD1 .I am using a P06, one of my "friends" stole my P28, so no madd VtaKK Action. Problem is, at idle it jumps like from 800-1200 repeatedly, no codes, and the IACV works fine. WTF? I replaced my throttle body gasket, but to no avail, I still look like a ricer when Im off the gas, it just ------- jumps up and down on que. I have heard of some ppl having this problem before on hondaswap, but no one ever found the problem.
when I unplug it, it does make a difference in how it idles, it idles much shittier. It didnt act like that in the Eg hatch I pulled it out of, and I drove that car for like a week and a half before I pulled the motor out. the motor maybe sat for 3 months before it was running in my hatch. There is a sensor near the end of my intake mani, upper from the IAT, that has a vaccum tee, and I have no plug to run to it. I used a stock EF Std harness and modified it, so there was no plug for that one, unless the black-orange two pin sensor went there.
But on a side note, on the Z6 there are 2 coolant senssors, one in the head and the other around back by the t.stat housing. I only have a plug for the one in the head, I assume the other one is for the coolant temp gauge as mine doesnt work now?

Not sure if any other cars have this problem, but in my '87 Prelude (A20A3) and in my old '88 Prelude (B20A5), the problem could be as simple as air in the coolant lines. Let the car run and open the bleeder valve on the thermostat gasket until nothing but straight fluid comes out, no bubbles.
i would say its your FITV valve and another could be that COOLANT problem fill up your coolant let the car warm up if it is warmed up and is still doing it it is most likely your FITV valve located right beneath the throttle body what u need to do is take that out open it up and tighten up a screw thing it looks like a flat head once that is tighten up go to started and check it cause Your problem is that there is small amounts of coolant being recieved in the IACV and what might be doing it is that the coolant is cold and needs to be warmed up before it starts to idle fine or just that the fitv is not opening and closing good enough iono sounds confusing
