Re: Idle air control valve

My Idle control valve didnt have any coolant lines hooked to it. I had coolant lines running through my throttle body though. Originally I just used a connector and looped those, it was good for a bit of power even. Hot TB isnt the greatest ting :( Now those lines feed the coolant on my turbo ;-)

My friend had the sam exact problem. fixed the tb gasket up then ran like a champ

another thing that can happen when you have a bad IAC valve is the car makes a "humming" sound out of the intake...thats what mine did, slaped a new IAC on it and it idles perfect now

to check for vac leaks spray acetelyne around all the posible leak points.

if the rpm goes up u found the leak.

my buddy had the same problem, take off you intake and look in the throttle body there should be two holes in there. one of them leads to the IAC sensor plug that it'll stop the problem. well at least it did for us.

i'm living the same life. When the cars warming up it great. When the car finally gets warm it starts that stumble ----. Ive cleaned and swapped IACV and checked for vaccum leaks.

Re: Idle air control valve

I've been having high idle from 1500-2000 no vac leaks. the car stalls when I closed the Iacv hole the TB. I've tested 4 IACV. none fixed the probem. same IACV works on other people's cars. I've had this problem on 3 different engine and 3 different intake setup. I got tired of it and bought a edelbrock intake and TB still same problem, I changed ecus and Chips still same problem. I am sick of it. so now I just ignore it.
I was thinking about blockoff plate thing, but I would drill really small pin holes in the plate to get the car to idle. I plan on doing it this week

Ive been having a similar problem. Car starts Idles at like 800. then falls to 3 the goes back to 8 for s while..It is rich as hell. my scanner is reading the front o2 sensor. and heater circuit..but he voltage isnt changing. so its rich like the sensor isnt working. changed sensor no luck. walked through a wirining diagram checked all the connection from the primary o2 sen. and followed them to the computer did a continuity check all work fine..just no voltage changed then i put in a gsr computer same thing.

ive had this problem for like almost 2 years now. i just ignore it now and laugh when peeps think i wanna race them at every stoplight..... you would think theyd notice a looping idle, but o well.

Ive tried everything less than taking it to a shop and saying find the problems for me lol.
