I have a 97 cx hatch (EK) w/ the d16y7, im gettin a d16z6 motor (block & head) for $100 from a good friend who said it ran just fine, is it worth it to swap the y7 for the z6? Should I just swap the head? I know i'll have to wire up v-tec, not a problem, will the y7 tranny work?, i just had new seals and bearings kit put in the y7 tranny is why i ask, if it would work id like to keep it, i also would like to be able to run 20lbs of boost on this d16z6 without worries, what kind of engine mods do i need for that? I would like to rebuild the entire motor, is it necessary to rebuild the whole motor? is a stroker kit really worth it or is that overkill? i also heard a p28 ecu (made for z6) with obd1 conversion harness is necessary?

What do you guys suggest i do if anything with this z6?

What brand of parts do u guys recommend? Any websites?

will my motor mounts and axles from the y7 work?

I wanna stick with the d-series and this is my daily driver, car is gutted, i want more hp!

the y7 tranny will work.
i would just go with using the full z6, get an obd1 conversion too.

anymore suggestions? i wanna rebuild it but wont be able to afford the turbo kit right away, should i still rebuild it, slap it in and wait to install the trubo kit till i have the money?

No your y7 tranny will not work with the z6, neither will your axles and motor mounts unfortinatley

no it is not necessary to rebuild the whole motor to run 20 pounds on it, just get an aftermarket headgasket and youll be good
