i have a d16y7, found a z6 what can i do
I have a 97 cx hatch (EK) w/ the d16y7, im gettin a d16z6 motor (block & head) for $100 from a good friend who said it ran just fine, is it worth it to swap the y7 for the z6? Should I just swap the head? I know i'll have to wire up v-tec, not a problem, will the y7 tranny work?, i just had new seals and bearings kit put in the y7 tranny is why i ask, if it would work id like to keep it, i also would like to be able to run 20lbs of boost on this d16z6 without worries, what kind of engine mods do i need for that? I would like to rebuild the entire motor, is it necessary to rebuild the whole motor? is a stroker kit really worth it or is that overkill? i also heard a p28 ecu (made for z6) with obd1 conversion harness is necessary?
What do you guys suggest i do if anything with this z6? What brand of parts do u guys recommend? Any websites? will my motor mounts and axles from the y7 work? I wanna stick with the d-series and this is my daily driver, car is gutted, i want more hp! WHAT DO I DO? |

the y7 tranny will work.
i would just go with using the full z6, get an obd1 conversion too. |

anymore suggestions? i wanna rebuild it but wont be able to afford the turbo kit right away, should i still rebuild it, slap it in and wait to install the trubo kit till i have the money?
