hydro to cable

Default hydro to cable

I'm thinking of putting a y8 block and tranny in my 89HB
how hard it it to convert from cable to hydro any write-ups
also i"ll be using my gude A6 head any probs. there

yea but my tranny is a dx d15b2, will it bolt up to the y8

yes it will..

but, finding low milage 88-91 si trannies suck.

id rather a y8 tranny w/ that steel shift fork

there are no kits that i know of.. the b-series kit wont work..

the 92-00 trannys WILL NOT bolt into a 88-91 chassis.

basically trial and error just gotta try things, I'll keep and eye out for you though if I hear others doing that.

I built one out of stuff lying around my buddy's garage. He's got a fairly well stocked garage though. Here's a pic:



It wasn't easy, although it's very beefy and was designed for a race car. I used parts from an 85 Civic tranny, an old tire changer, a wiper motor arm, and a few other bits. It works amazing and is only slightly heavier clutch feel than stock.
