HYBRID guys.....where do you buy axles from?
as you may know i roll a 88 HF with a LSVTEC, LS tranny and intermediate shaft...with 90 Civic EX hubs... so i went with the 90-93 teggy axles...
when it was time to get some axles i went to the local auto parts store, Schuck's Auto (maybe Checker or Kragen to you), and bought some of the lifetime warrenty axles.
what seemed to be immidiately the right front started clicking, thought that ---- was gay, so i pulled it out and they warrenty it without even lookin twice (---- or even looking at the axle, no boots torn or anything).
for a little while now i have been hearing a clunking coming from the front of my car, yesterday was the day to find out what it was... i grabbed the axle by the shaft and it had lots of play! took it out and it was deff coming from there, felt like there was no grease in there, but again no torn boot. again go warrenty without a problem. (left front this time)
now that is after a year of having them, and im not easy on them either. lots of burnoffs and ---- like that, so im accually suprized i have not broken one as i hear about people braking them all the time...
so has anyone had problems with there axles? interested to know about the reman ---- you get from autoparts stores... or is everyone buying them from Raxles?

I run one stock and one from autozone. I haven't had any problems with either launching with nitto555r's. I only needed one axle, thats why I have one stock, one not, but I tell everyone it's a science experiment.

---- im suprised they warrentied the damn thing, i wouldnt warrenty it (well accually i would cuz i dont give a ----). i had a manager tell me he wouldnt let me warrenty that ---- cuz im a racer. but i will just go to a different store or warrenty it when there not around...
as for Pep Boys...there price was accually higher at the time. also as Jeff pointed out i work at Shmucks so i got a discount. also i would have went with shmucks axles anyways cuz there are over a 1000 some odd stores on the west cost, 5-8 stores within 10 miles of me, and EVERYONE of them stocks these axles...SOO much easier to warrenty then Pep Boys (i only know of 1 in the entire area), plus i can warrenty at many different stores so i dont seem like a break one every week...

Yeah the only times I have broke an axle were my fault because I had the wheel at full lock and I was doing a burnout bouncing my engine off the rev limiter. My napa/schucks axles actually held up good at the track when I was launching at 6500 rpms on slicks. I think as long as you keep the wheel somewhat straight and make sure not to drop the clutch from the floor when launching or doing burnouts (pre load the clutch) you will be fine.
