how much does a B16 weigh?
Wow, I don't think it is that much for an engine and tranny.
Short block I can lift, so it has to be less than 100lbs.
Head is lighter than the short block, but lets say 100lbs anyway.
Tranny, I can lift it pretty easy too, so lets say another 100lbs.
So, 300lbs total? It is just very bulky to try to handle all together.

H22=385lbs
D15=200lbs
thats from the SCC artice when they put and H22 in a EG hatch. so a B16 must be in the middle somewhere.
ANYONE HAVE A CHEAP TRUCK FOR SALE?

Jim, I have also read that somewhere in the mid 450's for complete assembly..
Think about it, the alternaor/axles/hoses/intake manifold/exhaust manifold/PS bracket/Alt Bracket and ofcourse full of oil
its heavy and akward to handle.
Jeff

Yeah, maybe wet with all that other stuff. I was just talking about what I listed, tranny/engine, no accessories.
Maybe we could throw a B16 short block on the scale when your over and we could check it out, and I have that Y1 tranny sitting there to check too. In fact, I am sure we could actually piece together a whole engine.
