how do you pull apart a civic trans

Default how do you pull apart a civic trans

i have it the most of the way apart it just wont move anymore there is a 1 inch gap between the case and the bell housing but thats as far as i can make it move

Do you mean take the tranny itself apart or take the tranny off the motor?

The tranny has a "hidden" clip that holds the casing together. There should be a fairly large bolt/plug that conciels it. You should be able to tell once you have located it.

EDIT: Damn it, ghettoturbo beat me by 22 seconds. :P

assuming its manual,, there is a large plug at the tail end of the trans and that should have a spot to put a 3/8 rachet. Take that off and there is a clip inside and you need to ------ the clip and lift the case off.
