THe real question is how big does the ------- press have to be? I took my pistons/rods to my dads 5tonne press at work and nothing, didnt even budge.

 

there are no clips in honda pistons. They press right out. Be very carful when doing it, you can break the pistons pretty easy.

Anyway, no there is no clips in honda pistons, does anyone know how I can do this? I cant heat the rod up cuz it will distort it.

 

if you don't need to use the pins again you could edm them out. you'd have to take them to a shop of course and it would cost you money, but they would come out without putting any kind of stress what so ever on your piston or connecting rod. the pin would be garbage however.

 

a machinist will heat them to get them out, but this usually distorts the piston (doesn't damage the rod)

I recently had to have my dad bring 2 of my pistons to his machinist because whoever had them before me had them pressed on backwards... They were srp forged so i had to save them, the machinist used heat to remove the pin but he had to re-machine the wrist pin hole in the pistons because it got distorted.

 

Ok well I dont really need the pistons from the B18, I might need the pistons from the Z6, i'd like to damage as little as I could
