I've been on HT for several years and finally got fed up with it over there. I don't find it surprising I see a thread like this.

In my experience, there are HT moderators who push their opinions and delete or modify posts that don't agree with them. Particularly bad is the wheel and tire form that has been bought out by tire rack and their moderator Nsxtasy. It was either his opinion or your post was gone.

Its crazy how much HT has deteriorated since 2002. Glad to see real, honest tech info again.

h-t has gone way downhill, but before I joined h-t, I was on Speedoptions, that was a horrible site.. there was one 12 second dsm and the rest were almost all ricey show cars. when was hmt created? Was it always a forum, or was it just the project cars at first?

I recall HMT from the members rides crap. Beau and his DP-boners and such :P

Best of all was the innovative ways of doing things, like sink-trap manifolds and ***-raped OEM MAP sensors with a 4bar stuffed in it.


As mentioned, the only real useful part of HT is the archives, but even then you need to sift. HMT fo' life *****!

Let's inventory HT as it currently stands.

- 7+ people were banned from HT for calling a known scammer a scammer (zex_cool)
- in the last month HT vendors are outright banned when HT dramatically increased their sponsorship rates (right under $300/mo for no banner, running up on a grand per month for a basic no-frills sponsorship with minimal banner). I know of FOUR legitimate businesses where this caused people to freak out when a FS thread was deleted/locked *with no warning*, and I don't even pay attention to that sort of ----.
- ---- all the smaller complaints listed so far. They are NOTHING compared to how HT is being run by the media company that currently owns it.
