Default Help out with engine NEW at this

My engine is kinda week, i have a 89 honda crx si, i wanted to put a vtec head swap, i wanted to know if this would be worth it, i only have a budget of 1300 and no more then that. My engine has only 92000 miles on it so i dont want to get a new one considering the money issue. I never knew you can just get a d16y8/d16z6 head on the si engine and make it a vtec with at least 125 hp, some one told me that is it worth it, I was also wondering about the home turbo kit, will that engine be able to wit stand the turbo, i want to have the turbo with the vtec. Thanks for all the help.

doing the mini-me would be worth it for your price range. if you did do a hmt setup, i wouldnt recommend going over 8psi wiht stock internals. but look around on the forum and read alot, thats how you learn your stuff -keegan

your motor feels weak? I would get a compression test done.

around 150psi per cylinder is ok.

also.. if you have the mechanical skills a D series engine can be had for cheap. (like 500)
