Just close the thread.....

I really could care less about H or B trannies and the strength. I wont be putting down power to break EITHER. I wasnt asking a transmissiion question.

H2B was easier to do than straight h22 for me because i already had, b series mounts, axles, halfshaft, clutch, flywheel, harness, trann, the whole ------- shebang.

so why buy all new ---- when i can just buy a ------- kit and reuse my old ----? Was a ------- no brainer for me.

I dont think B series trannies are any stronger, I just think theres more people using them, versus the small population of people using H series. The small population of DOHC VTEC people that arent all over the simple over rated B series bandwagon. Sadly, the small population of H series owners must fail at shifting a 5 speed. Or maybe they havent changed their cables?

[EDIT] Oh, and its a 94 Prelude H22, full body, full leather interior, only weight reduction was CF hood and trunk.
WOW 640 whp in a 3000 lb car and your buddy can't break into the 10's? I guess granny shifting to keep the transmission together is working out for him pretty well.

What Spiker is onto is what I told him to do months ago. You can thank me when he does it - if he does it corectly - and it works.

No offense, I know youre the almighty JD and all, but reading pwns you. If you paid any form of attention to my post, you would realize that he makes peak horsepower at 8500 rpm, but the car was cutting out in 3rd and 4th at around 6500. Some kind of bucking action, still unknown to the cause, and its gotten worse... But anyways, he was having to shift at around 6500 in the top end. At that RPM, I would guess or estimate his horsepower to be MAYBE 500ish, even with running in the .60 lambda range. Also, take into consideration that he has shitty neuspeed springs, tokico blues, and a traction bar for suspension.

Lots of work due for next year. Should have had it in the 10s this year, but hes only made about 2 or 3 track days total so far, and hasnt worked out all of the bugs yet. So with some suspension work for next year, a cage, and some seat time, 10s will be cake. Also take into consideration that the fastest streetable SFWD Prelude that I can think of is running 10.6s at sea level or lower out in ------- Maryland. So if he can catch him, or even get close, at altitude, Im pretty sure he can drive. Especially with the limited amount of seat time hes been able to get in. Itll only get better with time.

[EDIT] And it almost seems as if you cant take into account that that extra 1000 lbs makes it a bitch to get off the line and produce even semi decent 60 or 330 foots. Maybe if these werent front wheel drive 4 bangers, and instead rear wheel drive torque monsters, itd be a different situation. Well, maybe not. weight accounts for a lot in the first 660.

The extra 1000lbs makes the car easier to launch, sorry. The NA guys can field 1300 lb tin cans, but the turbo cars seem to like to weigh in at 2200-2400 minimum for best hook. At the end of the day weight transfer is weight transfer, and with a properly set up suspension there's only so much the nose can lift, so all that extra weight helps off the line.

I spend whole days at the track with a single car, talking smack with the guy who does the suspension setup.
