Re:h22 or d16turbo
i have to agree with the b18/16 turbo...b series is cheaper than H series by alot and b series give better performance than D series does....dollar for dollar...a b series will always come on top of a d series and the H series are some heavy son of a bitch's...and expensive...only one worth it is the h22 and its not cheap for an H.

Re:h22 or d16turbo
well this is homemade turbo.com soooo, you will come out a lot cheaper if you budget turbo the d series.
you will also get the props of haveing a turbo in the first place. but if you talking turbo after swap, you could start building up the engine and look fo more boost or nos after built. sorry, i'm a d series fan.

Re:h22 or d16turbo
forget about the H22, its too much $$ and it will throw off ur handling like u wont believe. H22 is good for 3 things... in a prelude, an accord or a dedicated 1/4 mile machine. thats it.. if u plan to turn your car now and then get a b18. more tourqe then the b16

Take a look at this..
http://honda.hybrids.jp/forum/showth...sb=5&o=2&part=
Also as far a cost thats BS you can pick up full h22 swaps for in the 2k to 3k range.. Yeah B16 and B18B you can get cheaper But hell he has a 2000 so getting a obd2 B16 or b18 swap will run around 2 grand. I thought the same way about h22 until about a week ago, Guy I know swaped in a h22 in to a 93 hatch the handling was fine. ---- put some stiffer springs on and bigger sway bars and your fine.. 200hp out of the box and he had 100 shot of NOS on it.. I agree kill the D16 or atlest go with a VTEC head.. But I say start with a good base if you know you want to turbo later thats cool but sorry EK civics are heavy (compared to early model civics) and even B16 in them seem slow ie Si's and Hybrids I know..

Re:h22 or d16turbo
if its a 2000 civic dx i would go b16a2 and you will need 99-00 si motor mounts.
swaps right in.
and the axles too i think.
ecu
wiring harness
or just chip yours and get a msd activator.
either way a turbo dx with 9psi will beat the basic b16 however the b series is more of a great powerplant and aftermarket supported motor to go with.
