h trans being built tomorrow...What gears? and what lsd
im getting my H23 trans built tomorrow for my accord project.
h23 is the si prelude tranny. anyways anyone know what gears are best to combine/
i was thinking 1 and 5 use the F tranny, 1st gear is so short and i never gain traction, so im thinking a bit longer gear would help, 2nd and 3rd i want short as well as 4th but 5th because of the highway.
Also am going with OBX lsd
and xtd stage 3 clutch
how does this sound?
and someone told me to use oem honda pressure plate with the xtd clutch... hmm

H trannys are for limp wristed ******* that have different offsets on the diffs.
About all I know on a H tranny, enough business with D & B.......no need to mess with H's.......

The h23 has the same FD as the h22 trannies do (not sure about the euro r)... The gears themselves are TALLER than the h22 trannies by a bit however.
I have the M2F4 and it has really short gears... Even on 24" slicks reving to 8k im only doing about 125 (not high enough to make it through the traps without going to fifth.. ). Also 5th gear is about 4300 rpms at 80 mph on my street tires (205/40/17).
Id like the fisrt out of a h23 tranny, 2 and 3 that I have now, 4 and 5 out of the h23 tranny as well....
The f22b1 tranny in 5th gear does 3300 at 80 mph.... to high for what i want.
I personally like the short 2 and three, but i do wish my fourth and fifth were just a bit taller...
As for the first gear, IDK... As liong as i can get to the 60 without HAVING to shift... ill be cool with it. I do agree that H trannies suck ***, but will be keeping mine (accord) for now... If I still have this thing next year ill look into a b/d series swap into the ol cd5.
As for the idiot that told you to run the OEM PP with the xtd 6 puck... kick him in the ***** telll him hes a dipshit and laugh while you walk away...
The setup IS only good to abput 275/275 though... I had one. Lasted almost a year at 10 psi 26 whp/270 tq. Upped the boost and it started to slip.. I beat the hell out of it though. If you get the stage 4 PP they offer youd be better off.
