Going to the junkyard need your opinion....
Hey, need help. My 97 civic is getting painted, and I just got an 88 hatch DX. I need an engine for it. Got the car for only $200. The engine is fixable, but I don't want to spend $200-$300 on parts on a DX engine.
What would you buy? I just need your opinion to make a decision. I have a friend running a d15 from a 95 civic on a hatch, and it is pretty fast. What ever I get will be turbo charged also. I will use the kit I had put together for my civic and use it on the hatch. I know there's not a best, that's all relative to what you'll do later on.
I'm thinking one of these 3.
d16a6
d16z6
or any d15 92 or newer.
I don't have a car now, so I can't wait for an engine or anything. I have about 600 for it, and have quotes on some Z6's for 500-600, engine only, but I do have a p28 ecu and wiring harness already, and can use the stock DX tranny.
So what do you think?

Unless you wanna do an OBD0-1 conversion I'd go with a A6. IMHO
Hell, you should be able ti find 'after swap' A6's for NO more than $200 complete. Check your local boards, swap shops...etc
$600 is an A6 and most of a Ghettodyne fueled HMT system

well with whatever engine you put in the car is going to be a PGM-MPFI instead of the DPFI (dual point injection). You could be ahead of the game and get a Si Wiring harness?
Anyone else on that?

Like I was asking in another post, I went and got a SOHC ZC Vtec. It's like a d16z6 from japan, came on the 4dr civic, Ferio, and the Honda Domani, from 92-95. It has a vtec head and it is stamped ZC on the block. The guy gave me the engine, transmission, and axles, for $350. I already pulled out the old engine, and today after work, we'll be putting in the new one.
thanks for your help.
