goin to swap eng. for turbo which eng. should I?
Dear all Turbo lover friends
Have founds your guys web site and enjoy reading your guys comments and sharing each other experience for a while, it is one of a great informative web site about soups up honda in this day.
Now my ride is 92 Civic (EG body) but my 92 EG have SOHC carburetor power plant form the factory (91h@6,000rpm/11.6 kg-m@4,000rpm).
So I decided to swap it with a fuel injection engine, which I come up many spec. D15B, ZC, B16A, B18B, B18C, B20B etc.
In my first though, I think only DOHC VTEC is only way out to gains 170 hp. But here in Thailand B16A is more and more expensive power plant (costs ~2,500 USD) to swap it, while the SOHC VTEC is much more reasonable (~1,000 USD).
So I think if I go for SOHC VTEC and set up a turbo charging with it (~500 USD) its out come might more fun than that DOHC VTEC.
However, I would like to have your guys’ comments on which SOHC VTEC power plant is more appropriate for turbo project. My objective needs just only ~170 hp and about 16-17 kg-m torque and it’s for daily drive with a bit spice of fun.
1. D15B VTEC 130hp@6,800/14kgm@5,200
2. ZC 1,600 cc SOHC VTEC 130hp@6,600/15kgm@5,200
I think about LPT so I think I will go for IHI RBH5……like Mr. Mike…. https://www.homemadeturbo.com/turbo_projects/d16z6_IHI/
What do you think?

I've never really liked the 4 doors, but for some reason that one looks pretty damn good.
If you can find a VTEC D15 around there for a good price that would be great although you would probably be better off with a D16Z6.

Thank you...Dr Boost
EG here have only 4Door and 3Door.......so sad no Copue or CRX here.
Anyway, I have heard B18B (frakenstine) do a good job on Turbocharing? I have found couples of them in close by junkyard but its an automatic transmission! Do the b18b come in manual tranny?

lol..put up as many pics of u and ur buddies rides as u want those are nice clean rides NICE! and as far as cost and performance goes a b20b(crv block) is a good way to go
more pics please!!!!
more pics please!!!!
Oh man those are some sexy eg's. Like the Si lip on the 4dr, nice. Also diggin the hatch, alot. Me Cambodian, me your neighbor. But I live in the states. But since you have already been taking pics, can you take one (or more) of that grey (or is it gunmetal) one next to the hatch. Nice clean cars. I'd show a pic of mine but it's ugly and no one wants to see it.
If turboing... D15 vtec block with usdm or same d16a6 head. It drops the compression to 8.4/1, but it depends on your power needs. a stock D15VTEC could make 170 in its sleep with a turbo.
