ya im in a different state....the worst part is, my car isn't here with me. I just hope all my parts are still on it when i get home in 2 weeks

If u ever make it out to the "street rices" in orlando on Sat nights u might be able to find some spic with extra B-series parts.

it should work, i almost bought a type ARGHHHH!!! girdle for my LS, but then i heard of people reving to almost 9k on a regular basis without it. it seems that the redline for LS's was set due to valvetrain issues

I run a girdle for the added strength, and security and I don't beleive anyone on here runs their car as hard, and revs as high at the power levels the way I runs mine. I never had a problem in that area of my car. you can't use what people say about one person revving to 9k without one to make your decisions, do they revs to 9k daily? anything can be done if you only do it for a second, ---- you can make a 1000whp on a stock deries but how long will it last? this is just like the old days with the block gaurd discussion, people just talk about one person's experience, and not of their own.
there are 3 cars here that I built here with the same exact parts as mine GE sleeved 84mm blocks with the exact same internals and similar power goals running hard daily with a GSR girdle in the block with the assistance of ARP main studs none have been align honed, none ever had a problem with crank while the girdle was installed. I say if it makes you sleep better to install one do it. I wish I could find a 5 main girdle.

I wasn't trying to say it's not any good, but for reasonable power goals it's overkill. I'm sure you need one for serious power.

I run my LS/Vtec to 9800 rpm on a daily basis. I rarely drive it nicely. In fact, I have been trying to break it just because I want to build something better.. ha.

Either way, i would say the girdle is not needed.

Mine has OEM rods, pistons, with ARP rod bolts and headstuds. It was re-balanced though.

Mine had the GE girdle in it when I bought it and I have had no troubles with the bottom end. It only sees 8200 though and occasionally 8500.
