Default Floating Valves???

I just swapped in a ZC into my rex and am still woriking out the bugs. When im above 5.5k RPM under load, I start hearing a distinctive CHSH-CHSH-CHSh shound thats about 5/sec. Is this a floating valve or any ideas, also its not pulling as hard on top as it should

i dont think u are floating valves unless ur valve train is worn out.i always thought that u floated valves by over reving the engine and the valve springs cant keep up.

you gain no power at all and it just stops accellerateing and then itl start widning down. a Z6 will handle a FEW 8500 revs. but it doent like it lol.

Valves wouldn't float that early in the RPM band. Usually past stock redline, unless you have a super aggressive cam with stock valve springs.

Thats what I keep thinking but it might be a defective spring. I installed new everything and adjusted and rtorqued everything as it went in so I dont thnk its the normal wear things like valve lash, etc. Ill keep you uys updated, I just wanted to know if anyone knew what floating valves sounded like so I could rule this out
