First time swap questions.

First time swap questions.
I'm going to be putting a D16Y8 out of a 2000 civic ex into a 92-95 civic hatch (unsure of which trim level I am getting yet). I am going to go pull the swap out of the 2000 civic myself this week, I'm already taking the engine, transmission, and ecu, should I also take the wiring harness? Does anyone know where there are any writeups on how to do this swap? Is there anything that is going to make this a "difficult" swap? And last, is there any way to cure the y8's spinning bearings of death?

Re: First time swap questions.
i dunno bout the y8 spinning of death ---- but just use ur engine harness on the engine, use a p28. basically jus convert the motor to obd1 =x its basically the same engine with a different dizzy n ----.

always use the harness in the car getting the swap not the motor this is how people always screw up wiring. Its not that hard and there are plenty of y7's/y8 still rollin around without problems I have swapped out 2 myself for shoot bearings but there are 1000's with lots of miles that dont so its hit or miss

Re: First time swap questions.
If your Civic is a '92 you're in luck, they all have VTEC prewired into the engine bay regardless of trim level. If it's a 93-95 anything other than EX you will have to run your wires for the VTEC solenoid and VTEC oil pressure switch directly from the ecu to the engine.
If you have VTEC prewired into the engine bay ('92) then you only need to run a few inches of wire to get that ---- workin.
Keep the car's wiring harness, convert to OBD1, get a P28 ecu. It's cake really.
